Real-Time Apps Deprecation Notice

We’re announcing the end of support for real-time apps that were built using the JSON-RPC v1 API.

❗️

📅 End of Life: January 1, 2027

Since the JSON-RPC v1 API is being deprecated and will be permanently turned off on 01/01/2027, real-time apps that rely on it will also stop functioning after this date.

Real-time apps were typically hosted on customer servers and relied on complex code and flows tied to the v1 infrastructure. With v1 being retired, those legacy real-time integrations can no longer be supported.

🚀 Migrate to Callr Actions

We encourage all customers using real-time apps to migrate to Callr Actions, our new, more powerful and flexible framework for designing communication workflows. Callr Actions lets you:

  • Design call and message logic using a declarative, YAML-based framework inspired by modern automation tools.
  • Build inbound, outbound, and API-triggered flows without managing servers.
  • Connect calls and SMS to your backend in real time using actions like fetch@v2.
  • Integrate dynamic logic such as data lookups, conditional branches, and real-time personalization without telephony servers.
  • Leverage advanced features like multi-channel AI agents and extract insights with built-in actions.

📢 Reminder Notifications

Customers still using real-time apps tied to JSON-RPC v1 will receive automated reminder emails once per month until their migration is completed.

⚠️ What You Should Do Next

  • Review your existing real-time app usage.
  • Plan your migration to Callr Actions.
  • Use the documentation and templates in the Callr Portal to rebuild your flows.
  • Complete migration well before January 1, 2027 to avoid service interruption.

If you need help, contact our support team. We’re here to assist with your transition to Callr Actions.
